Message from the President

Our motors and transformers have a history of more than 125 years.

In 1894, Toshiba began manufacturing transformers, an essential device for supplying electric power, then developed the first domestically produced two-phase induction motor (the industrial motor) the following year. Starting with the popularization and utilization of electricity, Toshiba has added high efficiency to equipment and optimal control through inverters, contributing not only to significant energy savings but also to the reduction of environmental impact.

In 2013, Toshiba Industrial Products Manufacturing Corporation, which handled the product development and manufacturing side, and the former Toshiba Industrial Products Sales Corporation, with its worldwide sales and service network, came together to create Toshiba Industrial Products and Systems Corporation. Since then, we have continued to promote technological innovations that inherit the passion of our predecessors. We have also expanded our product lineup to meet the needs of the times, such as factory automation equipment that contribute to labor-saving efforts, SCiB™ lithium-ion batteries for industrial use, and main motors for hybrid and electric vehicles.

And now. The realization of carbon neutrality and infrastructure resilience as well as the shift to a circular economy are said to be the most urgent global issues. Contributing to a safe, secure, and prosperous society along with sustainable growth and development is our purpose, and the stable supply of highly efficient and high-quality components and systems is our life-long mission.

In line with Toshiba Group's Corporate Philosophy, "Committed to People, Committed to the Future," we will continue to build upon and improve our technological expertise, craftsmanship, and customer support capabilities that we have cultivated over the years, working as one to build the foundations for a better future.
