The pressure-resistant explosion-proof type motor has a structure that keeps its enclosure intact even if an explosion occurs inside the motor. The structure also prevents fire from spreading to outside gas. The motor is used mainly in hazardous areas of Zone 1, such as chemical and other plants, where explosive gas is present.

Anti-inflammatory action by gap dimensional control

Gap control is exercised on the shaft penetrating part and joint surface to prevent fire from spreading outside even if an explosion occurs inside the motor.

Pressure-resistant enclosure capable of enduring an explosion

The motor is protected from being damaged by explosion pressure. (The motor enclosure itself is pressure-resistant.)

Inverter drive

Inverter-driven 100% constant torque operation is supported within the rotation speed/torque control range of 1:10 (6 to 60 Hz). 
In order to be driven by inverter, a dedicated motor is necessary which differed from the standard pressure-resistant explosion-proof motor. (Not available for commercial use.)

The motor is manufactured in compliance with the Recommended Practices for Explosion-protected Electrical Installations in General Industries concerning the general explosion-proof structures of electric equipment, giving full consideration to the enclosure, locking structure, terminal box, bearing, etc. Its functionality is thoroughly checked through temperature tests and structural examinations. 
The motor is very safe and can be used with peace of mind.
